Technological innovation

• For four years, Callaway has been integrating AI into the design of its drivers. This advanced technology has now revolutionized the putter sector as well. A significant problem in putting is the loss of ball speed on off-center hits. It is reported that approximately 20% of the speed is lost at an impact point just 1 cm from center. The "Ai-ONE Putter" reduces this speed loss to approximately 5%, which has been proven through extensive supercomputer calculations and testing with tour players. Additionally, a polycarbonate window ensures visibility of the technology, and the newly developed STROKE LAB 90 steel shaft provides additional strength.

The problem of speed loss when putting

• A key problem with putting is the loss of ball speed on off-center hits. Data shows that shifting the impact point by 1 cm toward the heel or toe of the club reduces ball speed by about 20%. This means that a 10-meter putt can be 2 meters short. Odyssey has therefore developed a new AI design that reduces this speed loss to about 5% (50 cm at 10 meters), giving rise to the "Ai-ONE Putter."

The insert

• The Ai-ONE putter uses an insert consisting of an aluminum part with complex ribs designed by AI and a resin part on the impact surface. Odyssey originally wanted to create an insert made entirely of resin, but encountered difficulties reproducing the complex shape. Therefore, aluminum, originally recommended by AI, was used and combined with resin to create the final product. The resin surface contains engraved grooves to achieve the feel and sound of the White Hot insert.

• Each Ai-ONE putter features a transparent polycarbonate window that reveals the shape of the back and showcases a novel technology. The window is installed on the back of the blade model and on the sole of the mallet model.

Newly developed steel STROKE LAB 90 shaft

• The STROKE LAB shaft was newly developed for the Ai-ONE putter. The previous shaft was made of a composite of steel and carbon fiber. The new "STROKE LAB 90 shaft" is made of steel and weighs approximately 90 g. The grip area has the same thickness as the previous shaft, reducing torque and minimizing unnecessary movement during the stroke. A counterweight within the shaft increases the moment of inertia of the entire putter.
